2021 Audi Q5 Review, Release date, Interior, Price, Facelift

2021 Audi Q5 featured

The next year will be particularly interesting for the lovers of the four-ring company from Ingolstadt. Not only that we are about to see a couple of all-new models, but there are some pretty significant updates on the way as well. Of course, we are talking about the 2021 Audi Q5 model, which is about to come wit significant updates for the next year. We are talking about a major facelift, which brings not just new styling details, but changes in other aspects as well.

Among notable novelties, we should mention that both powertrain options come with a nice power boost. Also, there are more features than ever. The 2021 Audi Q5 will remain the first choice for all those drivers that are mostly about luxury and refinement. On the other side, we have to say that many rivals offer better handling and sportier driver experience.  We expect to see the new version on the market this fall.

2021 Audi Q5 Redesign

When it comes to base design characteristics, the 2021 Audi Q5 remains largely the same. However, there is a significant update, which brings a completely new styling. We can say that the new version follows the brand’s latest design language almost entirely. Of course, the biggest changes came in front. There are new headlights, as well as a new grille and bumper. On the other end, you can easily notice a new rear bumper, as well as new exhaust pipes. From the side, it’s hard to miss new wheels, while we presume that the company will offer a couple of new color options as well.

The hybrid model also comes with a couple of upgrades. From the styling point, it gets the same updates as the gasoline version, though we have to mention that the company has prepared new sets of 19- and 20-inch wheels. Furthermore, this version is now available with air suspension.

Interior

On the inside, the 2021 Audi Q5 comes with a couple of interesting updates as well. First of all, you can notice new stitching on the seats, as well as a couple of areas that come with new materials. On the other side, the dashboard design remains largely the same, if we exclude the new 10.1-inch touchscreen.  The infotainment system also gets some nice updates, while the list of standard equipment has been expanded as well. For example, wireless charging will be standard across the whole range, while the list of standard equipment will also include several additions in terms of safety features.

On the other side, the overall cabin layout will remain the same. So, you may count on two spacious rows of seats, as well as on a decently-sized cargo area.

Features

As we’ve just mentioned, this update will also bring loads of novelties in terms of standard equipment. This particularly refers to tech and safety features. We already mentioned the new 10.1-inch touchscreen. Wireless charging will also be standard, as well as things like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and similar smartphone goodies.  The company’s excellent digital instrument cluster, known as Virtual cockpit will remain reserved for higher trim levels.

When it comes to safety, the list of standard features has already been pretty long, while the 2021 model will make it even longer. Starting from this model, all versions will come standard with goodies like lane-departure warning, front and rear parking sensors, and blind-spot monitoring.

2021 Audi Q5 Engines

Things under the hood will remain essentially the same, but both versions will come with a slight power boost, as we already mentioned. Base models will carry on with a well-known 2.0-liter turbo-four, which gets a 13-hp power boost and delivers a total output of 261 horses. Also, the engine not gets a small 12-volt hybrid system, which won’t make the car quicker but should make it run even smoother.

For those who are looking for something peppier, there is a familiar PHEV version. It is based on the same turbo-four engine but gets significant help from electric motors. This version also gets a slight power bump and now delivers 362 horsepower. On the other side, the battery capacity remains the same, so you may count on a 14.1-kWh package, which ensures an all-electric range of around 20 miles.

When it comes to fuel economy, the base engine returns around 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. The PHEV is good for about 25 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway.

2021 Audi Q5 Release Date and Price

We expect to see 2021 Audi Q5 in the next couple of months but the more precise date is still a mystery. On the other side, the price certainly won’t change significantly, so base models should go around 44.500 dollars. Key competitors are models like BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC, Alfa Romeo Stelvio, Lexus NX etc.
