2022 Ford Everest Redesign: Interior, Sport, Release Date, Australia

The capable SUV is about to receive a full redesign for the next year. From what we know so far, it will bring a lot of novelties but the key design characteristics will remain the same. Once again, the SUV will be designed by the Australian department. This makes perfect sense, considering that the main markets for this model are Australia and Asia. If we can trust the latest reports, the new model will come pretty soon, as the 2022 Ford Everest.

What’s important to know about the new model is that it will continue as a genuine SUV. Once again, it will share most of its design characteristics with the Ford Ranger, which is also coming all-new for the next year. We are about to see lots of new parts, whether it’s about aesthetics or mechanics. Furthermore, the interior will be completely new, while novelties are coming under the hood as well.

2022 Ford Everest Redesign

The upcoming redesign will bring a lot of novelties but what’s important to know is that the overall layout will remain the same. This means that the 2022 Ford Everest won’t switch to a unibody platform, but rather keep a genuine body-on-frame layout. Moreover, it will continue to ride on the same but significantly updated T6 platform, just like the upcoming next-generation Ranger.

Of course, the architecture will undergo significant upgrades and updates and among new things we are about to see, there is also a new suspension setup, which should be more advanced compared to the current model. The new 2022 Ford Everest should offer better ride quality and a higher level of comfort, without sacrificing off-road capabilities.

Exterior Design

When it comes to exterior design, we expect that the new 2022 Ford Everest won’t come with significant changes in terms of dimensions. The wheelbase will probably remain the same (112.2 inches), while other measurements could only change slightly.

On the other side, we count on a completely new styling. We presume that the Blue Oval company will implement the new design language and that the front end will have a lot of things in common with the upcoming Ranger. The overall shape, on the other hand, will continue in a typical SUV layout.

Another thing we expect to see from the 2022 Ford Everest is a variety of different versions in the offer. Without any doubt, this is a pretty capable SUV, but many expect the company to include a more civilized version in the offer as well. This variant would serve as a typical family hauler and it would compete with mid-size crossovers. So, what we expect to see are things like a more refined suspension setup, a couple of fancy styling details, lower-profile tires etc.

Interior

Naturally, this redesign will also bring a completely new interior design. We count on big improvements compared to the current model, which features the same dashboard as Ranger. It looks outdated and utilizes mostly low-rent materials. The 2022 Ford Everest should be a completely different thing, an SUV with a modern-looking dashboard, with high-quality materials.

Considering that the overall size is about to remain pretty much the same, we also count on a similar amount of passenger and cargo space. Once again, the Everest will come with three rows of seats, while five-seat versions could be offered as well.

Furthermore, we count on a lot of standard equipment, whether it’s about tech goodies, driver assistance features or convenience goodies.

2022 Ford Everest Engines

One of the things we know for sure is that the old 3.2-liter turbodiesel will be dropped from the offer. On the other hand, the current 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel will be the base engine, with a max output of around 210 horsepower. We also expect that higher-grade models will get a newer 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel, the same one that powers the F-150. This engine puts out around 250 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.

Finally, we expect to see a gasoline version in the offer as well. This one should feature a familiar 2.3-liter turbo-four, which is good for about 270 horsepower. All three engines should come in pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

2022 Ford Everest Release Date

If we can trust the latest reports, the all-new 2022 Ford Everest should arrive by the end of 2021.
