2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty Review, Price, Changes, Updates, Release Date

2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty Featured

The current generation of Ford’s entry-level Super Duty pickup has been around since 2017. After the 2020 update, it was only a matter of time when the next update will happen, an update that would be a response to new generations of Silverado 2500 Ram 2500 models. As there was no need for any significant upgrades in terms of capabilities, the Blue Oval company focuses on features and convenience, primarily to respond to Ram’s luxurious cabin. As a result, the 2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty comes with a couple of nice updates.

Substantially, the next year’s models bring no important changes. However, we are living in a hi-tech world, where the size of touchscreen matters even in the segment of work machines like this. Therefore, the 2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty now comes available with a large 12-inch unit. Other than that, it comes with a couple of new color options, new interior combinations and similar aesthetical changes. More importantly, mechanics remained the same.

2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty Redesign

In terms of base design characteristics, the 2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty continues in a familiar way. The current generation has been around for more than four years and it is still among class leaders in every aspect. It benefits from the all-aluminum body, for which we can now say it proved itself over the year. The F-250 is a capable machine, which also looks great. For the next year, the styling remains the same. Still, there is a new color option in the offer, called Atlas Blue.

We should also mention a new appearance package, called Lariat Sport. It brings exclusive styling details, such as a color-matched grille, bumpers, and exterior mirrors, as well as black running boards and chrome exhaust tips.

Interior

On the inside, the biggest novelty is the addition of that large 12.0-inch touchscreen, which comes as a direct response to Ram’s same-sized unit. Other than that, there are new color schemes for the Lariat trim, and that’s where the list of novelties ends.

The rest of the  2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty remains the same. Unlike the new Ram, which features a pretty luxurious cabin, this model sticks with a more old-school design philosophy. So, it definitely doesn’t look as luxurious and doesn’t feature all those soft-touch surfaces. It’s rather functional and practical, though we have to say that higher trim levels do look pretty luxurious.

Trim Levels

The trim level organization remains the same and continues to include a wide palette of variants, which go from bare-boned workhorses to pretty luxurious versions.

The offer starts with the XL model. This is a typical work mule, which doesn’t offer too much in terms of comfort and convenience. With this one, you may count on manual locks and windows, vinyl upholstery, steel wheels, black bumpers etc.

The XLT is a bit of an upgrade. This model adds a couple of conveniences, such as smartphone integration, chrome bumpers, alloy wheels, power accessories, 110V power outlet and more.

Those who are looking for a great balance between price and quality will continue to prefer Lariat trim. This model comes with several notable upgrades over XTL, but still remains reasonably priced. For example, it comes with leather upholstery, digital instrument cluster screen, power-adjustable seats, rear parking sensors, power-sliding rear window, power-folding towing mirror, automatic emergency braking and more.

The King Ranch has always been known for exclusive exterior and interior details but it also adds things like keyless entry, remote start etc. Finally, Limited and Platinum are where luxury begins. These trim levels come with a full load of features, while the is also no option you can’t get with them, whether it’s about packages or standalone features.

2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty Engines

The engine offer will definitely remain the same. So, base models will continue with a 6.2-liter gasoline V8 engine, which puts out around 385 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. If you’re up for something more capable, there is a new 7.3-liter V8 unit. This one puts out around 430 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque.

Finally, there is a well-known diesel version, equipped with a 6.7-liter turbodiesel, which puts out around 475 horsepower and 1.050 pound-feet of torque. When it comes to transmission, the base gasoline engine uses a six-speed unit, while the other two come with a newer and more refined 10-speed unit.

2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty Release Date and Price

We expect that the 2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty will hit the market in the summer. The base models should go around 36.000 dollars.
