2024 Genesis GV80 Is Getting Coupe Version and More Updates

2024 Genesis GV80

If there’s one premium mid-size SUV that could be considered a great value, that would be the GV80. The Korean SUV offers a great number of amazing features and from what we know so far, the next year’s models will become even better. Namely, the 2024 Genesis GV80 is about to receive a mid-cycle refresh and it won’t be just about aesthetics. This refresh will also bring a completely new, coupe body style, which will make this model even more desirable.

The standard SUV model will get a typical facelift, with a good portion of new styling details, which will make it look more attractive. On the other hand, the overall layout will remain the same, so the GV80 will remain an SUV that offers a luxurious and well-equipped cabin, in a combination with a smooth and comfortable cabin. The powertrain lineup should remain the same, though we might see some slight price increase.

Considering the updates, the 2024 Genesis GV80 might come a little bit earlier than usual, though still within the second half of the year.

2024 Genesis GV80 Design

So, the 2024 Genesis GV80 is about to get a mid-cycle refresh. The standard SUV model will come with a good portion of styling updates. As the test mule still wears a camouflage, it’s still hard to talk about details, but we presume that the focus would be on the front end, where we would see revisions in areas like the grille, headlights, bumper etc. The rear end would come with a new bumper and some revisions to the tailgate and taillights, while there is always room for typical mid-cycle updates, such as new color options, wheels etc.

The new coupe version would come with a new front-end design as well but on the other hand, it would replace the classic SUV rear end with a sloping roofline that provides that coupe-like appearance. Of course, this would also affect the design of taillights, tailgate etc.

Interior

We still don’t know if this update is about to bring interior changes or not. Still, we may presume that smaller-scale changes might happen, but the overall cabin design would remain the same. Simply, the current cabin already looks pretty amazing, with high-quality materials, elegant aesthetics, and plenty of tech and convenience features. We presume that the refreshed model could come with minor tweaks to the dashboard, along with new color schemes and similar things.

The standard model will continue with the same seating configuration, offering plenty of space in the first two rows of seats. The optional third row is typically tight for the segment and, as you may presume, the new coupe version definitely won’t be offered. Moreover, the coupe version might even compromise the second-row headroom, while the cargo area will certainly be smaller.

Features

We expect that the upcoming update will bring a couple of novelties in this aspect as well. Most likely, some of the current options will become part of the standard equipment. Of course, bear in mind that the current model is already impressive in this aspect, so changes would probably be minor.

The current model already comes with a long list of standard equipment. Some of the highlights are things like a 14.5-inch touch screen, navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, four USB ports, wireless device charging, HD Radio, satellite radio, a 12-speaker stereo, an analog gauge cluster, keyless entry, push-button start, remote start, a digital key app, dual-zone automatic climate control and rear sunshades

So, the additions would come from the current list of options, so some of the things like a 21-speaker stereo, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, tri-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, power soft-close doors and power rear sunshades might become part of the standard equipment.

2024 Genesis GV80 Engines

Under the hood, we expect to see a familiar duo of powertrain options. Base models would continue with a 2.5-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 300 horsepower. It comes coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission and offers pretty good driving dynamics.

While the base turbo-four seems capable enough to satisfy most drivers, there is also a more capable, 3.5-liter turbo V6, which puts out 375 horsepower. With all that horses, the GV80 is capable if hitting 60 mph in less than six seconds. This engine also comes coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

2024 Genesis GV80 Release Date and Price

Considering the mid-cycle refresh, we presume that the 2024 Genesis GV80 will arrive a little bit earlier than usual, though still within the second half of the year. As we already mentioned, a smaller price increase is always possible, so we presume that base models could go around 58.000 dollars. On the other hand, the Coupe version, which will compete with models like BMW X6 and Audi Q8, will most likely cost more than 60.000 in the most basic variant.
