2024 Honda CR-V: Preview, Changes, PHEV, Price, Hybrid

2024 Honda CR-V featured

The new generation of one of the world’s most popular compact crossovers is here, with a full load of changes. The 2023 model brings a new design and once again takes a place of one of the most versatile models in the class. Considering all the novelties, it’s hard to believe that the 2024 Honda CR-V, which will represent the second production year, could bring more important changes. Still, some sources speculate about the PHEV version.

In any case, the next year’s model won’t change significantly. The overall design will remain completely the same, based on the new platform, with more space on the inside and an even smoother ride. The new generation has so many things to offer, including a pretty efficient hybrid powertrain. We like the well-built interior, as well as a pretty long list of standard and available equipment.

Despite the possible novelties, we are pretty sure that the 2024 Honda CR-V won’t arrive before the last quarter of the next year.

2024 Honda CR-V Design

As the second model year of the new generation, the 2024 Honda CR-V will certainly continue in the same way. We are about to see the same design, which brought significant changes recently. Of course, the first thing you can notice is the styling, which looks way more exciting than before. The new model is bigger, with a longer hood and a completely new front end. The front end is characterized by narrower headlights, a massive honeycomb grille and many other parts that make this SUV look much bolder than before.

Of course, there are also new mechanics, new suspension and chassis setup. Once again, the CR-V is much more a hauler than an off-roader, though all models come with hill-descent control, while AWD is available. The ride is super-smooth but there is also a decent level of athleticism, though not as high as in the case of the Mazda CX-50, for example.

Interior

Once again, no bigger changes are expected. We are about to see the same cabin design, which takes a lot of inspiration from Civic. The dashboard is practically the same, with the same honeycomb pattern all over, and a design that combines retro and modern elements in such a nice fashion. Also, the new infotainment system is way more intuitive than before.

The new generation features a longer wheelbase, which translates into more legroom in both rows. Traditionally, Honda makes amazing seats, which offer a lot of comforts and good side support. The second row is as spacious and accommodates adults with ease.

The CR-V has always been famous for its impressive cargo capacity and the new generation brought further improvements. It offers around 39.3 cubic feet behind the second row and 76.5 cubic feet of the total cargo volume.

Features

This aspect might bring a few novelties but we are pretty sure that most things are about to remain the same. So, base models should continue with goodies like 18-inch wheels, a 7-inch touchscreen, push-button start, ambient lighting, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, a six-speaker audio system, dual-zone climate control etc. Base models also come with various safety and driver-assistance features, including blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control etc.

Of course, there are many more things to get in the highest trim levels, starting from exterior upgrades, leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather seats, 9-inch infotainment screen, navigation, wireless smartphone integration, wireless charging, premium audio systems, heated steering wheel, power-adjustable passenger seat etc. Also, you can get driver-assistance features like parking sensors, rain-sensing windshield wipers and more.

2024 Honda CR-V Engines

As we’ve just mentioned, there are several reports that speculate about the addition of a plug-in hybrid setup. However, the officials are still quiet about this, so remain reserved.

On the other hand, base models will continue with a well-known 1.5-liter turbo-four, which comes in pair with a CVT. It features a max output of 190 horsepower, which provides pretty adequate acceleration and offers pretty impressive fuel economy. You may count on about 28 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway, which is excellent for the class.

If you care about efficiency, there is also a hybrid version, which offers a total output of 204 horsepower. The acceleration is decent, while the economy is pretty amazing. It goes around 43 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway, which is way better compared to the Hyundai Tucson Hybrid, which returns around 37 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway.

2024 Honda CR-V Release Date and Date

As we already mentioned, we believe that the 2024 Honda CR-V will arrive sometime in the last quarter of 2023. The base price should go around 32.000 dollars.
