2021 Infiniti QX50 Review, Specs, Release date, Price, Interior

2021 Infiniti QX50

The current, second generation of Infiniti’s compact crossover has been around for about three years. According to the latest reports, it’s still early for bigger changes, so the 2021 Infiniti QX50 will most likely carry on in the same way. While the company is currently busy working on other projects, this model still sells pretty well. More precisely, it is probably the only Infiniti that still makes decent numbers. Therefore, the best we could see for the next year are things like a couple of additions in terms of standard equipment and new color options. Other than that, things will remain the same.

That’s not a bad thing at all. The current model still has a lot of great things to offer, starting from a very stylish exterior design. Furthermore, you may count on a spacious cabin and lots of standard equipment. Finally, the engine is powerful and efficient at the same time. Given the lack of changes, we presume that the launch date will be scheduled for the end of the year.

2021 Infiniti QX50 Redesign

Things definitely won’t change in terms of base design characteristics. This model may be relatively fresh, but it rides on the company’s well-known D platform, just like the corporal relative, Nissan Murano. Of course, this means you may count on an FWD layout, though the all-wheel-drive version is also available.

In terms of the styling, there is a chance to see a couple of new color options in the offer, as we already mentioned. Other than that, you may count on a familiar appearance, which is certainly some of the prettiest in the segment. Infiniti’s typical curvy lines are combined with a couple of sharp aesthetical solutions, which make everything look really appealing. Moreover, the styling is certainly one of the strongest points of this crossover.

Interior

When it comes to the interior design, the 2021 Infiniti QX50 will also look pretty stylish, despite we are not going to see any particular changes. This means you may count on the same dashboard design, which is relatively simple but looks really elegant. Of course, a dual-touchscreen is there, while we also like the fact that pretty much every area is covered with nice soft-touch materials.

Besides a very nice and opulent look and feel, this cabin is also quite spacious. Both rows are adult-friendly and offer plenty of leg and headroom for passengers. At the same time, visibility is very good in all directions. The aspect where this crossover really shines is the cargo area. You may count on the largest cargo volume in the class, as there are 31.4 cubic feet of cargo space behind its rear seats and impressive 65.1 cubic feet of total cargo volume.

Features

As we already mentioned, there is a chance to see a couple of additions to the list of standard equipment. Still, we are pretty sure that most of the things will remain the same. So, the list of standard features should include tech goodies like the recognizable dual-touchscreen system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, four USB ports, a six-speaker stereo, satellite radio, a CD player, and dual-zone automatic climate control. Additionally, you can get things like navigation and a premium Bose audio system.

When it comes to safety features, all models currently come standard with goodies like a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, front and rear collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, and automatic high-beam headlights. Additionally, you can get things like a head-up display, traffic sign recognition, adaptive pivoting headlights, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, front parking sensors etc.

2021 Infiniti QX50 Engine

Under the hood, the 2021 Infiniti QX50 will also continue in the same way. This means you may count on the company’s relatively new 2.0-liter turbo-four engine, which comes with variable compression in order to provide a better fuel economy. It delivers quite respectable 268 horsepower, which is enough to provide more than decent performances. The engine is coupled with a CVT gearbox, which also works very well.

The ride is smooth and convenient, while we also like mpg ratings. The numbers are pretty solid for the class, as you may count on about 23 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway.

2021 Infiniti QX50 Release Date and Price

Given the fact that there are no bigger changes to come for the next year, we presume that the 2021 Infiniti QX50 will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of 2020. Changes in prices shouldn’t come either, so base models should go around 38.000 dollars. Some of the key competitors are models like Lexus NX, Acura RDX, Volvo XC60, Mercedes-Benz GLC etc.
