2022 Ford Bronco: Colors, Hybrid, Specs, Launch Date, Price, Sport

2022 Ford Bronco Featured

The legendary SUV is coming back after so many years and it brings the original flavor with new technologies and design solutions. Those are the best words to describe the so-much-awaited model, which has been rumored years ago. It is finally here and the sales should start in the summer. Of course, the new model will come as the 2022 Ford Bronco and it definitely has a lot of things to show.

You need just one look to realize that this is a genuine off-roader, designed to compete with Jeep Wrangler. Of course, we are talking about a BoF layout, but there is also a retro styling and interior, all inspired by the legendary vintage versions. Of course, things under the skin are completely different. There, you may count on modern and potent engines and transmission, along with loads of advanced systems for better off-roading. A hybrid version is expected in the future too.

2022 Ford Bronco Design

When it comes to the overall design, the first thing you will notice is the styling. It’s completely different from everything in Ford’s current lineup and the SUV looks really exclusive. Of course, everything is designed in order to resemble the previous generation and that is visible on almost every part of the vehicle. Also, the squarish design and high ground clearance clearly show that we are talking about a genuine body-on-frame SUV. Just like the Wrangler, it will come in two variants, as a two-door and as a four-door SUV. The former measures around 100.5 inches in wheelbase, while the 4-door more is good for more than 116 inches.

The new 2022 Ford Bronco is based on Ford Ranger. It uses the same but notably updated platform and once you look at the specs, you know this will be a capable off-roader. The ground clearance goes up to 11.6 inches, while the max water fording capacity goes around 33.5 inches.

Interior

On the inside, you may count on a typical American interior design approach. However, keep in mind that this is an off-roader, so a bulky dashboard design was pretty much expected. Of course, most areas feature hard but durable plastics, while aesthetics are also in an old-school manner. Once again, it’s easy to notice that Ford is aiming Jeep Wrangler with this model, as doors and roof are also removable.

Of course, there is a lot of modern tech features as well. The first thing you’ll notice is a large touchscreen that measures 8 or 12 inches diagonally, depending on the trim level. Also, you can notice a knob on the center console that allows you to choose one of the numerous drive modes, which change traction settings and adapt to different surfaces and terrains.

All necessary contemporary tech goodies are standard or available, including Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot. The same thing is with safety features, as you can get goodies like lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert and many more.

2022 Ford Bronco Engines

At this point, we know two engine options for the 2022 Ford Bronco. Base models will come with a well-known 2.3-liter turbo-four, with a max output of 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. Many enthusiasts will be happy to hear that this engine will be available with a 7-speed manual transmission. Of course, you may count on a 10-speed automatic as well.

More expensive versions will come with a 2.7-liter V6, which is good for about 310 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. This one will be available only with automatic transmission.

Hybrid version has been confirmed!

Besides two gasoline engine options, we also count on a hybrid version. Such a powertrain has been officially confirmed, though we still don’t know the exact details about this setup. Some sources suggest it could be the same system as in the Explorer, which is based on a 3.3-liter V6 engine and delivers a total output of 318 horsepower. However, we wouldn’t be surprised if we see some power increase on this occasion.

Also, keep in mind that the Jeep Wrangler also comes in a diesel version. So, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see an oil-burner in the offer as well. At this point, we are still waiting to hear something from the officials on this matter.

2022 Ford Bronco Release Date and Price

Although the original plan was to launch the new Bronco by the end of 2020, complications with the Coronavirus pandemics have caused a half-year delay. The latest reports suggest that the 2022 Ford Bronco will hit the market sometime in the summer. When it comes to the price, base models will go around 30.000 dollars.
