2023 BMW X6 Facelift: Interior, Release Date, Price, Facelift, Redesign

2023 BMW X6

The current generation of the well-known Bavarian coupe SUV has been around since 2019 and it looks like it’s time for a mid-cycle refresh. The 2023 BMW X6 is about to come with some pretty notable updates and from what we can see on the spy shots, both exterior and interior changes are about to come. Furthermore, we are about to see notable changes under the hood, as all versions are about to get more power and other upgrades.

Despite the updates, the overall layout will remain the same. The next year’s model will continue to deliver familiar design characteristics, which means that we may count on familiar pros and cons. This SUV comes with pretty capable powertrain options, while we also like the interior design, which offers great overall quality. The vehicle also handles pretty well but the trade-off comes in terms of the firm ride. Also, the cargo area is really small.

The 2023 BMW X6 is expected to arrive sometime in the second half of the year.

2023 BMW X6 Design

As we already mentioned, the 2023 BMW X6 is about to receive a facelift. This will be a typical mid-cycle refresh and changes are about to come in various aspects. When it comes to aesthetics, the test model still wears camouflage. However, we can clearly see that most of the things are about to remain the same. The list of changes will include new internal design of head and taillights, while we also count on a new, more prominent front fascia. Of course, we also expect to see typical mid-cycle updates, such as new wheels, new color options etc.

On the other hand, we don’t expect to see bigger mechanical changes. The overall layout should remain the same, including the chassis and suspension setup. The X6 rides on BMW’s contemporary CLAR platform and offers pretty engaging handling, considering the vehicle’s size and weight. On the other hand, the ride may feel a little bit too firm to some.

Interior

When it comes to interior design, we could also see some updates. This particularly refers to the dashboard design, which will probably come with infotainment and instrument cluster screens, which should feature the same design as those found in the iX electric crossover. Other than that, we might see a few more revisions on the dashboard, along with new color schemes and some new materials.

The rest of the cabin will remain the same. This means that you may count on the same amount of passenger space and the same level of comfort. Both rows are generous with legroom and accommodate adults with ease. However, the rear-seat headroom may be a little bit tight for taller passengers, due to the sloping roof design. For the same reason, the cargo area is really small by the mid-size SUV standards. In numbers, that would be around 27.4 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats and 59.6 cubic feet behind the front seats.

Features

We have no doubt that the upcoming update will also bring some novelties regarding the standard and available equipment. We already mentioned the new infotainment screen, as well as the new digital instrument cluster. Other novelties could come as well, but keep in mind that the current model already stands pretty well in this aspect. It comes standard with goodies like navigation, five USB ports, satellite radio, HD Radio, a 10-speaker sound system, Bluetooth, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, push-button start, proximity keyless entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a panoramic moonroof.

The current list of options includes quad-zone climate control, remote start, premium audio systems etc.

2023 BMW X6 Engines

Big changes are coming under the hood as well. The base 3.0-liter inline-six will come with pretty notable power upgrade, so the max output will go up to 370 horsepower. On the other hand, the M50i model will be replaced with the M60i model. The twin-turbo V8 will remain, but it will come as a part of a mild-hybrid setup. The max output is expected to go around 530 horsepower.

Finally, the X6 M will also remain on the offer, with the same 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8. The current version puts out around 600 horsepower, but this update might bring some power increase in this case as well.

All models will come coupled with 8-speed automatic transmission.

2023 BMW X6 Release Date and Price

We expect that the 2023 BMW X6 will hit the market this fall, with a starting price of around 68.000 dollars. Key competitors are models like Audi Q8, Mercedes-Benz GLE etc.
