2023 Chevy Suburban Preview: Specs, Features, Changes

2023 Chevy Suburban

The legendary SUV has been redesigned for the 2021 model year and from this time distance, we can tell that Chevy did a great job with the new model. It is better in every aspect compared to the previous generations, so it’s quite easy to predict that the 2023 Chevy Suburban will come without more important changes. This will be the third production year of the generation, so we are pretty sure that the biggest changes we could see are minor updates like new color options and more standard equipment.

So, you may count on an SUV that has so many great things to offer. We are talking about plenty of passenger and cargo space, as well as about a cabin that offers good quality and lots of standard equipment. Furthermore, there is a lineup of capable engine options, which includes a diesel version as well.

Considering that there are no bigger changes to come, we presume that the 2023 Chevy Suburban will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year.

2023 Chevy Suburban Design

As we already mentioned, the 2023 Chevy Suburban will represent the third model year of the generation. So, we won’t see any bigger changes. We are about to see the same overall layout, based on the new T1 platform, which provides a good balance between comfort and utility. All versions come standard with independent rear suspension, which is beneficial not only in terms of ride quality but in terms of cargo capacity as well.

Visually, the current model follows the contemporary design language of the brand. Of course, it’s still early for a mid-cycle update. So, the 2023 Chevy Suburban will continue with the same styling, though there is always a chance to see minor tweaks, such as new color options or new appearance packages.

Interior

The same story goes for interior design. We expect to see the same cabin layout, which features an attractive dashboard design that is also pretty good in terms of materials and build quality. Furthermore, there is a pretty long list of standard and available tech features, which makes everything look even more appealing.

Still, the best thing about the Suburban has always been the amount of space and the current generation is better than ever. Of course, three rows of seats are standard, with a seating capacity for eight people. The front seats are massive and supportive, while the driving position is good. The second is as spacious, while the third row also accommodates adults pretty easily.

Finally, there is the impressive cargo volume. This SUV features one of the largest cargo areas in the class. You may count on about 41.5 cubic feet of space behind the third-row seats, 93.8 cubic feet with these seats folded, and 144.7 cubic feet of the total cargo volume, which is way more than you get from rivals like Ford Expedition Max.

Features

Although novelties in this aspect are always possible, we don’t believe that the 2023 Chevy Suburban could bring any bigger changes in this aspect. Most of the things should remain the same as for the current model. So, base versions should come equipped with a 10.2-inch touch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, eight USB ports, HD Radio, satellite radio, a six-speaker stereo, Wi-Fi hot spot, keyless entry, push-button start, remote start, and tri-zone automatic climate control. Additionally, there are options like a panoramic sunroof, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, navigation, nine- and 10-speaker stereos, and a rear-seat entertainment system with two 12.6-inch touch screens.

When it comes to safety, all models should come standard with a rearview camera, parking sensors, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, automatic high beams etc.

2023 Chevy Suburban Engines

Without any doubt, the 2023 Chevy Suburban will continue with three familiar powertrain options on the offer. Base models will carry on with a 5.3-liter V8, which puts out around 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, which seems enough to move this large SUV conveniently. However, the optional 6.2-liter V8 with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque is definitely a better choice.

For those who care more about fuel economy than driving dynamics, there is also a 3.0-liter inline-six turbodiesel, which puts out around 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.

All three engines come in pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

2023 Chevy Suburban Release Date and Price

As there are no significant changes to come, we presume that the 2023 Chevy Suburban will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year. Base models should go around 54.000 dollars, while the key competition will be models like Ford Expedition MAX, GMC Yukon XL, Toyota Sequoia etc.
