2024 Dodge Durango Redesign, Interior, SRT, Concept, Rumors

Although more than a decade old, the current generation of Dodge’s mid-size SUV still makes pretty good sales numbers. That’s probably the reason why the company isn’t rushing with the redesign, which was announced a few years ago. Simply, the current model still has a lot of good things to offer, especially when it comes to the powertrain lineup. That’s the reason why we believe that the 2024 Dodge Durango will come without more important changes.

We expect that the 2024 Dodge Durango will carry on in the same way and offer familiar design characteristics. This SUV may be old but still offers a lot of great things, starting from the very capable powertrain options, excellent towing capability, spacious cabin with generous cargo area etc. Since the next year’s model won’t bring bigger changes, we presume it would come in a typical time of year. That would be sometime in the last quarter of 2023.

2024 Dodge Durango Design

As we’ve just mentioned, the 2024 Dodge Durango shouldn’t feature bigger changes. The current generation has been around since 2011 but the SUV still has a lot of good things to offer. One of the reasons may be the 2021 update, which brought exterior and interior updates that made this SUV looks fresher and more competitive.

However, the overall layout is still the same. The mechanics are largely the same as in the previous-generation Grand Cherokee, and so do the driving manners. The Durango is a classic SUV in this aspect, with a lot of body lean and not particularly impressive athleticism. On the other hand, the ride is smooth, and the off-road performance is strong, while you may also count on class-leading towing capacity, which can go all away up to 8.700 pounds in a proper configuration.

Interior

The same thing is with interior design. We expect to see the same cabin layout, which was updated two years ago, with the new infotainment system, dashboard revisions etc. Still, the overall interior doesn’t particularly different compared to pre-updated versions. It looks decent enough, though younger rivals are definitely more attractive in this aspect. The build quality is pretty good, though.

The best part of Durango’s cabin is the amount of space. Base models come with two rows of seats and accommodate five adults with ease. You can also opt for the third row, which is surprisingly spacious and comfortable, especially when compared to most other mid-size SUVs, including Toyota Highlander and Honda Pilot.

The cargo area also offers respectable capacity for the segment. You may count on about 17.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind its third-row seats, 43.3 cubic feet with these seats folded and 85.1 cubic feet with second and third rows down.

Features

Most likely, things won’t change in this aspect and the 2024 Dodge Durango will continue with familiar standard and available features. Currently, base models come standard with goodies like an 8.4-inch touch screen with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a six-speaker stereo, satellite radio, Bluetooth, four USB ports, a 7-inch digital gauge cluster with an analog tachometer, tri-zone automatic climate control, proximity keyless entry and push-button start.

Among options, there are goodies like a 10.1-inch touch screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, navigation, wireless device charging, HD Radio, nine- and 19-speaker sound systems, a 120-volt household-style power outlet, two additional USB ports, remote start and a sunroof.

When it comes to safety features, base models should come with goodies like a rearview camera, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert etc. Also, count on upgrades like front and rear parking sensors, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams etc.

2024 Dodge Durango Engines

The engine lineup will also remain the same, starting from the good-old 3.6-liter V6, which puts out around 293 horsepower. The rest of the offer consists of capable V8 engines, starting from the 5.7-liter HEMI V8, which is good for about 360 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque.

The Durango SRT will continue with a large 6.4-liter V8, which puts out around 475 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. Finally, the SRT Hellcat comes with a supercharged 6.2-liter engine that puts out around 710 horsepower, which is enough to move this large SUV from zero to sixty in just 3.5 seconds.

All engines come coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

2024 Dodge Durango Release Date and Price

We expect that the 2024 Dodge Durango will arrive sometime in the last quarter of the year. The base price should go around 39.000 dollars.
