2023 Kia Telluride Facelift: What We Know So Far

2023 Kia Telluride

Kia’s biggest crossover has been around for a while and it instantly gained the title of one of the best models in the class. It’s highly appreciated because of all the things it gives for the money, starting from an attractive design and high-quality interior. Furthermore, it comes with one of the most spacious cabins in the class, as well as with a pretty long list of standard and available features. Finally, there’s the intuitive infotainment system. Now, we are getting reports about the 2023 Kia Telluride, which is about to come with updates.

From what we know so far, the next year will bring a mid-cycle. We expect changes in various different aspects, starting from a new styling. We could see a few revisions on the inside as well, while the list of standard equipment will certainly be expanded. On the other hand, we presume that the mechanical aspect of the vehicle will remain the same. After all, this is still a pretty fresh model on the market.

2023 Kia Telluride Redesign

As we’ve just mentioned, the aspect that’s about to come with most changes is the styling. We count on novelties in various areas of the cars. Still, we have no doubt that the focus will be on the front end. We presume the 2023 Kia Telluride could come with an updated grille, headlights, bumper etc. Of course, typical mid-cycle updates are expected as well, things like new wheels, new color options etc.

On the other hand, we don’t believe that the updated model could come with mechanical changes. We presume that this aspect is about to remain the same. In practice, this means the same design characteristics, which are more about comfort and less about the sporty ride. Still, the steering and handling, in general, are more than satisfying and we like the fact that the Telluride is pretty easy to drive.

Interior

This is arguably the strongest point of the Telluride. First of all, the interior quality is amazing. Soft-touch quality materials are all around the cabin, while the build quality is very good too. Furthermore, the sound insulation is amazing, while we also like the clean design of the dashboard. What’s most impressive is that even the most affordable variants of the SUV look really upscale.

Besides the great overall quality, this cabin offers plenty of space. The first two rows are very generous with space, while the third is decent too. We really like the front seats, as well as the driving position, which ensures good visibility in all directions. Finally, there is a pretty respectable cargo volume, which offers around 21 cubic feet of cargo space behind its third-row seats, 46 cubic feet with these seats folded, and 87 cubic feet in total. That’s above average for the class.

Features

We have no doubt that the 2023 Kia Telluride will bring novelties regarding standard and available features. Still, if we consider that the current model already stands pretty well in this aspect, we believe that most of the things will remain the same. For reference, the current model comes standard with goodies like keyless entry, remote start, an 8-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a six-speaker stereo, HD Radio, satellite radio, Bluetooth, and five USB ports. Additionally, you can get upgrades like a 10.2-inch touch screen, navigation, an extra USB port, wireless device charging, an intercom, and a 10-speaker Harman Kardon stereo, as well as dual-zone automatic climate control, a sunroof, and a hands-free power liftgate.

The same thing is with safety features. The current model comes standard with goodies like a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, driver drowsiness monitoring, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and a rear seat alert.

2023 Kia Telluride Engine

We don’t expect bigger changes under the hood of 2023 Kia Telluride. So, you may count on the same 3.8-liter V6, which puts out around 290 horsepower and comes in pair with a smooth-shifting 8-speed automatic transmission. Driving dynamics are good and there’s plenty of power to move this large SUV with ease.

When it comes to fuel economy, you may count on about 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway, which is about average for the class. Of course, models with all-wheel drive are slightly thirstier. In that case, you may count on about 18 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway.

2023 Kia Telluride Release Date and Price

We presume that the 2023 Kia Telluride will hit the market sometime in the second half of 2022. When it comes to the competition, some of the potential rivals are models like Honda Pilot, Chevy Traverse, VW Atlas etc.
