2023 Cadillac XT4 Preview, Facelift, Redesign, Refresh, Release Date

2023 Cadillac XT4

Cadillac’s entry-level crossover originally came as the 2019 model and the 2023 Cadillac XT4 will represent the fifth model year of the generation. Therefore, it’s no wonder that a mid-cycle refresh has been in plans for a while. The initial idea was to do a facelift in 2022 but with all complications that came with Covid-19 pandemics, this refresh was delayed for the 2023 model year. Nowadays, it looks like this small SUV is facing another delay, which clearly indicates that the next year’s model will arrive without more important updates.

We are about to see a familiar design, which still has a couple of good things to offer, such as a spacious cabin or a long list of standard features. However, some novelties will still come, as the company is about to delete the exterior colors and replace them with two new finishes. Other than that, things are about to remain the same, so there is no reason to believe that the 2023 XT4 could arrive anytime before the last quarter of the year.

2023 Cadillac XT4 Design

As we’ve just mentioned, this small crossover will have to wait some more time to receive a facelift. The 2023 Cadillac XT4 is about to continue in the same way, with familiar design characteristics and features. We are about to see a familiar design, with a design language that’s a bit older compared to the one that characterizes bigger models like XT6 or the Escalade. Still, the current model still looks fairly nice. For the next year, the biggest novelty will be new colors. Two finishes will be added – Radiant Red Tintcoat and Argent Silver Metallic. However, three color options will be removed from the offer – Twilight Blue Metallic, Radiant Silver Metallic and Infrared Tintcoat.

The mechanical aspect of the vehicle definitely won’t change. We are about to see the same setup, based on the company’s familiar E2 platform. The ride quality is good, though many rivals offer more athleticism. The overall comfort is quite good.

Interior

When it comes to interior design, we definitely won’t be seeing any bigger changes. The 2023 Cadillac XT4 will carry on with the same cabin layout, which looks nice but doesn’t feature the build quality you would expect from a premium crossover in this class. Of course, things are far from being bad, but rivals like Audi Q3 or Volvo XC40 feature better build quality, nicer materials and more attractive dashboard designs.

On the other hand, there is nothing to complain about regarding interior space. The front seats are spacious, well-cushioned and quite supportive. There are also highly adjustable, so you may count on pretty comfortable long journeys. Passengers in the back will also enjoy long rides, as the second row is also spacious and comfortable. The cargo area offers around 22.5 cubic feet behind the second row, while the total volume goes up to 49 cubic feet.

Features

Although we will probably see some slight changes in this aspect, we have no doubt that most of the things are about to remain the same. So, base models should come standard with goodies like remote start, keyless entry, dual-zone climate control, an 8-inch touch screen, a seven-speaker stereo, satellite radio, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, four USB ports, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and Bluetooth. The list of options should include goodies like a sunroof, a 13-speaker Bose stereo, wireless device charging, and navigation.

The same is with safety features. So, we expect to see all modes equipped with goodies like a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection etc. The list of available driver-assist features will be pretty long. Some of the highlights should be goodies like lane departure warning, lane keep assist, lane change alert, front parking sensors, automatic high beams, adaptive headlights, adaptive cruise control, parallel park assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear pedestrian detection, head-up display and many more.

2023 Cadillac XT4 Engine

Things under the hood definitely won’t change and the 2023 Cadillac XT4 will carry on with a single engine option on the offer. We are talking about a familiar 2.0-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, which is quite enough to ensure good driving dynamics. The engine comes in pair with a 9-speed automatic transmission, which also does a pretty decent job.

When it comes to fuel economy, you may count on about 24 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway, which is typical for the class.

2023 Cadillac XT4 Release Date and Price

We expect to see the 2023 Cadillac XT4 sometime in the last quarter of the year, with a starting price of around 36.000 dollars. Key competitors are models like Audi Q3, Volvo XC40, BMW X1 etc.
