The current version of Lexus RX 350 luxury SUV went through a severe treatment, which brings new front grille and rear design. Besides that cosmetic updates, it’s practically the same model since the last redesign that happened back in 2016. Now, the latest updates enter the second year. Therefore, we expect from 2021 Lexus RX 350 to carry the same design language, but, with a couple of improvements.
The 2020MY refreshment introduces a larger spindle grille, a refined front bumper, and redesigned headlights. Moreover, the rear side of the luxury crossover SUV adds a revised taillight design and a brand-new bumper. Also, the additional F Sport model offers larger wheels, optional body cladding, and a couple of vibrant color options. What could the 2021 RX 350 improve?
Well, the design department will try to improve the aerodynamics of the vehicle. Also, the front bumper could get a refinement as well. As for the cabin, the RX 350 will maintain the same design, which features a hard steering wheel, premium upholstery, horizontal dashboard lines, and much more outstanding features. Moreover, the F Sport model adds a unique and striking look with exclusive red leather. So, we expect that the premium SUV will keep most of the cabin element for the 2021MY as well.
2021 Lexus RX 350 Engine
The current version of RX 350 uses a familiar 3.5-liter V6 engine. The peak output of this unit is 296 hp, while the power moves through an 8-speed automatic transmission, out to available front-or all-wheel drive. The upcoming 2021 Lexus RX 350 will keep the same engine as the ongoing model, while the RX 450h will add a hybrid powertrain. The hybrid will pair a 3.5-liter V6 with two electric motors, for a combined output of 306 hp.
Standard Equipment
2021 Lexus RX 350 delivers the outstanding amount of standard safety equipment. The safety suite includes automatic emergency braking, automatic high beams, forward-collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and active lane control. Moreover, the current version of RX 350 gets ‘Good’ crash-test scores, and ‘Acceptable’ headlight ratings, which were more than enough for the IIHS Top Safety Pick rating. The same safety features will be available on the new model as well.
As for the technology. the 2021MY will include an updated version of Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Amazon Alexa connectivity. Also, expect to see six USB ports, leatherette upholstery, a 9-speaker audio system, an 8-inch touchscreen. Same as on the ongoing model, the customers may choose between standard and long-wheelbase versions. The base RX 350 offers two very comfortable rows of seats, while the RX 350L adds the third row. However, the third-row is not very generous with the legroom or space.
2021 Lexus RX 350 Release Date and Price
Unfortunately, the official release date of 2021 Lexus RX 350 is still unknown. But, taking into account the company’s release strategy, we expect to see a new model in the fall of this year. The price will remain pretty much the same. So, the 2021MY will have a price sticker of around $45,500. The additional equipment might raise the price close to $60,000. The luxury mid-size crossover SUV will compete against Acura MDX. Lincoln Nautilus, and Cadillac XT5.
