2024 Honda Prologue: What We Know So Far

2024 Honda Prologue EV Render

The Japanese manufacturer has always been famous for some of the best internal-combustion engines in the world but that era is coming to its end. Things in the automotive industry are changing and it’s all about electrification these days. While many carmakers have already launched their EV models, Honda is still working on them and the first one to come will be the 2024 Honda Prologue. This model will arrive in the next year and we count on plenty of interesting details and design solutions.

Of course, the powertrain will be one of the most interesting aspects of the new mode. In that aspect, many things will be shared with General Motors, especially in terms of the battery technology. On the other hand, the rest of the vehicle will be designed by Honda. It’s pretty much for sure that this model will compete in the most popular segment of the industry today – compact crossovers.

2024 Honda Prologue Powertrain, Battery, Range

As we’ve just mentioned, this will be one of the most interesting aspects of the 2024 Honda Prologue. The first thing we should discuss is the battery. The Japanese manufacturer works on its own technology but it won’t be ready in the next several years. So, the initial EV models from Honda will use GM’s batteries. We are talking about the new Ultium battery technology, which is one of the most advanced technologies around. With charging power of up to 190 kW, it is expected that the new 2024 Honda Prologue will be able to add 70-80 miles of range every 10 minutes.

When it comes to the battery capacity, it’s still early for details. Still, we presume that the max range will go around 300 miles. We expect both single and dual motor variants, though it’s still early to talk about the numbers.

2024 Honda Prologue Design

When it comes to the overall design, this model will be a compact crossover, as we already mentioned. It should feature a typical SUV layout, while the overall size should be similar to the company’s best-seller – CR-V. The proportions should be similar as well, though we won’t be surprised to see this model with a little bit longer wheelbase.

On the other hand, the styling will probably be significantly different. We presume that the 2024 Honda Prologue will establish a new design language. It will characterize all-electric vehicles, with a new front-end design. Moreover, this particular model may also come with a bit of a sloping roof design, which would provide a couple-like design.

Interior

As we already mentioned, the 2024 Honda Prologue may feature a slightly longer wheelbase than the CR-V. As there will be no engine under the hood, we presume that the front seats will be moved forward and that the overall amount of space will be more generous. Still, we don’t expect to see the third row of seats offered.

When it comes to the overall cabin design, we expect to see Honda’s typical approach, though in a more futuristic manner. In other words, the dashboard should offer a futuristic, simplistic design, with simple shapes and accentuated tech features, such as an infotainment screen, digital instrument cluster and similar things. Of course, the offer of other tech features should be generous as well, particularly in terms of driver-assistance systems.

2024 Honda Prologue Release Date and Price

We expect that the 2024 Honda Prologue will arrive sometime in the next year, though it’s still early to talk about a more precise date. When it comes to the price, the latest estimations suggest it could start at around 45.000 dollars.
