2021 Buick Enspire: What We Know So Far

A couple of years ago,  Buick presents a concept of a crossover called Enspire. This concept was characterized by a very stylish layout and the reception was pretty good. Therefore, it’s no wonder that the production version is on the way. The new model will represent the brand in the segment of compact luxury crossover and many believe that this could be a real breakthrough to the premium segment and that the new model will be able to compete in this class successfully. We expect that the new model will come as the 2021 Buick Enspire.

Although GM still keeps many details as secret, there is also a number of things we know for sure. First of all, we know most of the mechanical aspect, including the powertrain. Also, we know details about dimensions. On the other side, we are still waiting for the details about the styling, interior design etc. The new model should hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the years.

2021 Buick Enspire Redesign

One of the things we certainly know about the new 2021 Buick Enspire is the overall design. Of course, that leads us to the platform, which will be shared with the Cadillac XT4. We are talking about the latest version of an E2 platform, which already underprints a plethora of Buick and Opel models. For this occasion, we won’t see bigger modifications, so you may count on pretty much the same layout as in the XT4. This means an engine mounter at the front, with front-wheel drive, though AWD models will be in the offer as well.

Exterior

When it comes to the exterior design, we will start with things we know for sure. The new crossover will come as a replacement for the Envision. Therefore, you may count on typical dimensions for the class of compact luxury crossover. Interestingly, the 2021 Buick Enspire will be slightly shorter than the Envision, with around 182.3 inches in the overall length. The model will also be lower and wider. Still, the most important thing is a little bit longer wheelbase, which will go around 109.4 inches. This is a nice increase which will certainly have a positive impact on performances, interior space etc.

When it comes to the styling, it’s still early to talk about details. The 2021 Buick Enspire has been spotted on the road but the test mule still wears a camouflage. Still, we have no doubt that the new model will take a lot of inspiration from the concept version, which features really amazing styling. Of course, everything will be toned down for a bit, in order to provide some savings in terms of production costs. More details about the styling should be known in the near future.

Interior

As we already mentioned, the test mule has been spotted on the road. Interestingly, spy photographers have managed to take a couple of shots of the interior as well. Although the dashboard is still mostly covered, we can easily see a large infotainment screen at the center stack, which will certainly be one of the highlight points of this cabin, which should look very luxurious and opulent.

When it comes to the interior space, exterior dimensions clearly indicate that the amount of passenger room won’t be significantly bigger compared to the Envision. Still, a slightly longer wheelbase may provide a couple more inches of legroom. On the other side, we will probably see a little bit less headroom in the second row, due to the sloping roof design. For the same reason, the cargo volume could be also smaller compared to the Envision.

2021 Buick Enspire Engine

While some details of design characteristics are still to come, the powertrain department is pretty much a certain thing. The new 2021 Buick Enspire will use the same setup as the XT4, which means you may count on a new version of GM’s familiar turbo-four engine. It is a 2.0-liter unit, which is good for about 237 horsepower. It comes in pair with a 9-speed automatic transmission, which sends power to front wheels, while AWD models should be in the offer as well.

This engine delivers pretty solid performances but we expect that fuel economy will be at a pretty high level as well. We expect similar ratings to the XT4, which returns around 24 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway.

2021 Buick Enspire Release Date and Price

We expect that the 2021 Buick Enspire will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year. When it comes to the price, base models will go somewhere between 35.000 and 40.000 dollars. The new crossover should be able to compete with models like Acura RDX, Lexus NX, Audi Q5, BMW X3 etc.
