2021 Ford Bronco featured

The iconic SUV is finally coming back, after decades of waiting. The new model is almost ready but the latest reports suggest the launch will be delayed for the next summer, due to the Coronavirus outbreak. However, we already know pretty much everything about the 2021 Ford Bronco, including mechanics, styling, interior design, features etc.

The new model will be a genuine body-on-frame SUV, based on the well-known Ford Ranger. It will offer everything a real SUV enthusiast wants, starting from exceptional off-road performances, retro styling, powerful engine options etc. You may count on two body styles, removable roof and doors and similar design solutions, which clearly indicates that this is the Wrangler’s new direct rival, though we should consider the upcoming next-generation Toyota 4Runner as well. The starting price will go under 30.000 dollars, reports say.

2021 Ford Bronco Design

Of course, the first thing that comes to mind about the 2021 Ford Bronco is its base design. We were relieved when we found out that Ford won’t do the same kind of stupidity as GM did with the new Blazer. This one is a genuine SUV, which borrows the platform from Ranger, a well-known mid-size pickup truck, designed in Australia, now available in North America as well.

Of course, the Blue Oval company did a lot of modifications on this platform and one of the most important things is a new suspension design. At the front, you may count on an independent suspension, while the rear axle comes in a genuine off-road manner. There is a solid axle, with a five-link Dana 44 with coil-overs. Also, you may count on disconnecting the front sway bar, while the ground clearance goes up to 11.6 inches. Another interesting thing we should mention is the max fording depth of 33.5 inches, which sounds pretty amazing for the class.

Exterior

When it comes to the exterior design, the most notable thing is the styling. It comes in a genuine Bronco manner and brings tons of retro vibes, starting from those fancy headlights and huge “Bronco” badging on the grille. Huge 35-inch wheels make it completely clear that we are talking about a genuine off-roader.

As we already mentioned, the model will be the Wranglers arch rival. Therefore, the Blue Oval company has offered similar options. You may count on two body styles in the offer. Of course, we are talking about two- and four-door models. The former will offer spectacular off-road performances, while the latter, even though also pretty capable, will also be quite practical.

Naturally, you may count on more and less extreme versions of this SUV but all versions will be very off-road capable. Of course, the most capable versions will take on versions like Wrangler Sahara, Wrangler Rubicon etc.

Interior

Once again, you may count on a combination of retro and modern design solutions. When it comes to the dashboard design, it comes in a super-simplistic manner, with a classic off-road layout. Of course, you will easily notice those massive grab handles. Of course, the center console is full of oversized knobs and buttons and a great thing is that pretty much everything has remained physical.

Speaking of buttons and knobs, the upper column controls off-road goodies, such as differential locks, off-road turn assist and traction control defeat. Of course, you may count on a bit of modern touch as well, starting from a massive 12-inch touchscreen, equipped with the latest SYNC4 infotainment system. In the lower section of the center stack, you can find a mode selector, which offers seven different driving modes.

2021 Ford Bronco Engines

The new 2021 Ford Bronco won’t feature a V8 engine, but it will definitely have plenty of power. You may count on two familiar engine options, both with a turbocharger. Base models will feature a familiar 2.3-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. Besides plenty of power, off-road enthusiasts will also like the fact that this engine will be offered with a new 7-speed manual transmission. Of course, a 10-speed automatic will be available as well.

In higher trim levels, you may count on a 2.7-liter V6, which is good for 310 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. This engine will only come with a 10-speed automatic.

2021 Ford Bronco Release Date and Price

The 2021 Ford Bronco was originally planned for the end of this year. However, the launch has been moved to spring 2021, due to supplier issues caused by the Coronavirus outbreak. When it comes to the price, base models will cost 29.995 dollars.
